In Bed With... Antonia Prebble
1. Who are you?
My name is Antonia Prebble, I’m an actress, presenter and podcaster.
2. What does the public know best about you?
My connections to the West family.
3. Tell us about one of your greatest achievements?
My two children, Freddie and Gus. Being their Mum has been (and still is!) the best chapter of my life.
4. Are you a cotton, linen or something else person?
I used to be cotton until - and this is true - I tried GSL sheets and now I am a total linen convert.
5. Do you sleep in black or white or colour?
Colour
6. Describe you perfect bed?
Medium firm mattress, linen sheets, many plump pillows, and big enough for all four of us to fit in comfortably.
7. Does size matter, when it comes to beds?
Yes, when the whole family ends up in the same bed each night!
8. What is your must-have bedroom extravagance?
I don’t know if I have one, but I’m inspired now, I must get one!
9. Tell us about the most memorable bedroom you’ve slept in.
When I travelled to Spain, many years ago now, I stayed in a hostel that was built into a cave. So the bedroom itself was literally just the inside of the cave, stone walls and everything, it was quite an experience.
10. What’s your favourite bedtime story?
With a five and three year-old, we read a lot of bedtime stories. There are so many wonderful books for children out there, but I always find myself drawn back to the classics. The Hairy Maclary series is probably my all-time favourite, the rhyme scheme is so lovely, it’s always fun to read aloud.
11. Have you eaten spaghetti carbonara in bed? If not, what’s the best thing you’ve eaten in bed?
No I haven’t but again, I’m now inspired to! I get breakfast in bed every mother’s day, usually a salmon, mushroom and cheese omelette, sourdough toast and a big mug of English Breakfast tea. That would probably be my favourite as it also comes with a sleep-in.
12. What present or past figure would you like to be serenaded or entertained by?
Beyonce, without a doubt.
13. Watch, listen or read, what are you currently consuming in bed?
My husband and I are currently watching Severance on Apple TV and it is brilliant. The best series I’ve seen in a long time, definitely recommend.
14. What are your relaxation night time rituals?
I try to read every night, even if it’s only a few pages. I find that’s the best way to help my brain unwind and get ready for sleep.
15. Have you ever made a hot water bottle cover? Do you make art in bed?
No and no, but again I’m inspired!
16. Pillows; fluffy or flat, 1,2 or more?
Fluffy and definitely two.
17. Blankets or duvet, why?
Duvet plus a throw blanket on top. It’s what I had as a child so I think I’ve just continued on with that tradition.
18. Do you have cold feet when going to bed?
I do often wear socks to bed, not necessarily because I have particularly cold feet, but I like how they make me feel extra cosy.
19. Night owl or morning lark?
Night owl.
